Pune, Maharashtra, India

Pune is about 2 hours southeast of Mumbai, and, like Mumbai, is being developed at breakneck speed. The highway from Mumbai to Pune is littered with advertisements for new development projects, many of which are being built without regard to any of the other projects coming up. The above image is a new road being built to a new development I visited. These images were taken just outside the city center.

During the time we spent in the new apartment building, we didn't see any other people. As of right now, there are 8 people living in the entire building. Most of the flats have already been sold, and as the building finishes up construction, more and more people will move in. This image is the parking lot beneath the building.

The view from the apartment building- many Levittown-y looking houses. There are tons of apartment buildings being constructed in the distance.

Just to the right of these new houses is a very, very large pit, which I'm told is going to be a huge mall, obviously.

There is nothing else around the site except for a small school. These types of development sites are scattered throughout the area.
